Reply to this post with anything you'd like and I'll tell you why I friended you and two things I love about how you play your muse. The only catch? You have to repost this as well.

I friended you because you're lovely, and your Romana is wonderful.
Why is she wonderful? Well, you can write in any time period, and make her recognisable, make her real.
You strike just the right balance between vulnerable and powerful, compassionate and hardened, wonder and cynicism. We never forget who she was, who she is, and who she will become.
And my character loves her to death, and always will.

Date: 2008-06-04 07:34 pm (UTC)*though could probably ramble on about any of them*I didn't know much Heroes when you picked Adam up - the first two episodes, clips here and there. But you're you, so I knew he would be written wonderfully, and I wasn't disappointed.
I still haven't seen as much as I'd like, really, but you make me interested anyway. He's fascinating, ambiguous, and sometimes he breaks my heart. (You have a talent for that. :p)
He can also be hilarious, tender, fun - like all your characters, he's complicated and layered and never, ever a caricature. I can hear his voice when he speaks, I can sympathise with him despite his crimes. All in all, it's a pleasure to have him on my reading list.

(Okay, that might have happened anyway.)

Date: 2008-06-04 07:39 pm (UTC)I love that you write her in every area of her life - a lonely child, a troubled teenager, a powerful adult - and always do her justice, always make her believable. I feel like I know her so well, now.
And I'll admit now that Seven/Ace usually squicks me, but for some reason, not when you do it. You let us see her love evolve and mature, you make me believe in a romance, and one that can be wonderful for all its imperfections.

Date: 2008-06-04 07:46 pm (UTC)I friended Ten ages ago because, well, he's brilliant. And his mun was very friendly and helpful, too. ;p
Honestly, Ten is not my favourite Doctor - perhaps least - when I see him on screen. You, however, handle him so much better. He's always seems more real to me, more like the Doctor, when I'm reading your stories. (The same can be said for Doctor/Rose; mind, that's also due in part to some brilliant Roses.) You take what we see, and make it into a coherent whole, a sympathetic person, a Doctor I can love again.
Your love and knowledge of Who as a whole always comes through when you write, and I love that you incorporate it all; it makes Ten a fuller character, and presents so many opportunities for wonderful stories. Old and New Who don't seem so disparate when I read them.

Date: 2008-06-04 07:50 pm (UTC)Well, first of all, Five would have my head if I didn't let him friend the TARDIS. ;p Mostly because your TARDIS is brilliant.
It's always, always clear that she is not human, that she's a very old, very alien ship. Even when she dances, and kisses, and laughs, that's always there - we never forget. It doesn't matter what form she takes, she is always the TARDIS.
Still, she's sympathetic. Even when she's being petty, even when she's being stubborn, even when she's being callous; because it's all understandable, and she's never just cruel for the sake of it. She's a good person, so to speak, who loves her pilot to death, but is at once more than her connection to him, and knows his failings more than anyone.

Date: 2008-06-04 09:34 pm (UTC)The TARDIS would be rather upset if her Five hadn't friended her back, because she's clingy like that.
soubsbosg thank you. You know my concerns with her but ohgosh, you always make me feel better about writing her. Everytime I think I'm Doing It Wrong, you like to smack me upside the head (and I thank you). Then again, I never would have picked her up without awesome people like you to play against, so. Your Five makes me gleeful and she fangirls him perhaps more than I do.

Date: 2008-06-04 07:53 pm (UTC)I friended you because Harry is lovely, and I was ecstatic that someone was roleplaying him.
You present all his best and lesser qualities, delve into his history and motivations, capture his voice and demeanour so well; you're just good at writing him.
You make me believe in the future you created for him, and I'm so very grateful for that, because he deserves one.

Date: 2008-06-04 08:35 pm (UTC)You friended me first, if I recall - and I friended you back because, well, Jack! A good Jack!
Torchwood...hasn't really impressed me, but you make me fond of Jack again, and the rest of his team. You make them believable and sympathetic and, most of all, consistent. You make me care again.
I will help you steal the show if you want.Your writing is witty, engaging, with sly humour done just as well as heart-wrenching angst, which I think is necessary for writing Jack - and you portray both sides of his character, and make them mesh.

Date: 2008-06-04 08:35 pm (UTC)On drugs?I friended you 'cause writing you was great fun on thetenspot, and continues to be.
Dorothy is amazing. Honestly, I can't remember the books I read very well (for shame, yes, need to get them) but you capture the spirit of them, of her, so wonderfully. You make me feel like I'm in Oz - and the way you describe it is just beautiful.
You make her tragic and fun both, full of cynicism and childish awe all at once, and it's always believable, always a joy to read. If I didn't love her before, I certainly do now - and the Doctor is quite fond of her as well.

Date: 2008-06-05 02:12 am (UTC)I friended you because – well, it's hard to remember, actually, but why wouldn't I friend you? You are lovely and so is Reinette.
Reinette is lovely because you manage to write her true to both history and Doctor Who, to make both her past and personality fit together. I keep saying this to people, but "they're so real" is the best compliment I feel I can give. And, well, she was, and you do her so much justice. All of her flaws, her mistakes, her triumphs, her strengths – none of them are sidelined or disregarded.
Her relationship with the Doctor…you let her miss him terrible without letting it diminish her character. You make her love make so much sense. You and MJ are the reason I love that pairing as much as I do, because you're both such wonderful writers who really believe in them, and portray their relationship beautifully, in all its angst and conflict and tenderness.

Date: 2008-06-05 02:26 am (UTC)I knew you through RS, too, and the rest...well.
You write with such a sense of humour that suits Sarah well, which can go from light to biting in a moment, smoothly and easily.
When you don't, the angst isn't overwhelming - this is still Sarah, she is still strong, and we know she'll never give up.

Date: 2008-06-09 05:10 pm (UTC)Sarah was the first to comment at Five's TM introduction, and it was great, great fun to play with her - so of course she was added! She's Sarah Jane.
And I do mean that - she really, truly is Sarah Jane. Everything you write, no matter how far she diverges from canon, no matter what period of her life you write in, she's always recognisable. I always, truly believe in your Sarah, whether she's making me laugh or breaking my heart.
You're very good at both; you portray both drama and humour so well, and you always write beautifully. It's just as much a joy reading your prompts as it is playing with you.

Date: 2008-06-09 10:20 pm (UTC)Was she really? Gosh, that seems like so long ago. And I'm still so happy you joined TM with Five. Because I adore him so much.
And thank you, really. It means a lot to hear that. All of it. And here is where I fail at anythign more eloquent. ♥
