Eleven just makes Five happy. She's him, but she's more cheerful and confident and hopeful, though still wise and ancient and brilliant.

He's glad that he'll be her some day, and for now he'll just enjoy her company.

(There are, by the way, two of his selves he fancies - Eleven, and Eight. Clearly, they should all have tea.)
