The Doctor was, though one would never hear him admit it, rather giddy. His hands flew lightly over the console, setting coordinates with cheerful confidence. India, 2007. He wasn't too specific; no need to press his luck, and they could find other ways of travel once they arrived. See where the current matches were being played.
Perhaps they could take a train. He hadn't done that since the werewolves, and that was hardly a leisurely ride.
"Winter, then," he murmured, brow furrowed slightly in concentration, though a faint smile lingered on his lips.
Nyssa wanted to go, for him. Perhaps he shouldn't feel so incredibly touched by that, but he did.
He was determined, absolutely determined, that the three of them would have an enjoyable, relaxing time of it. No murder investigations, no devious plots uncovered, no sinister invaders thwarted.
It would be their first trip together since being reunited, and they were going to have fun.

He'd tried for February, and the crisp but mild cold seemed to account for that.
"We should be in West Bengal, near Kolkata."

"Should I be amazed that you seem to have gotten it right?" He asked, good natured under protective sarcasm.

"He gets it right just as much as he gets it wrong." Nyssa laughed. "We always end up where we're needed when things go awry."

Date: 2007-04-16 10:34 pm (UTC)"It's not that cold. Just a bit chilly for these parts, isn't it?"
no subject
Date: 2007-04-17 04:16 am (UTC)"I'm not used to the chill." She admitted, and she accepted the coat with lowered eyes, "Thank you, Doctor."

Date: 2007-04-17 06:38 am (UTC)"Come on, then, we've a bit of a walk ahead of us." He paused then, brow furrowing slightly, before offering both of his hands.
It was a rather silly impulse, really, but...no, that didn't matter.

Date: 2007-04-17 04:12 pm (UTC)"Beige really is your color, you know." Turlough said and he moved to accept the Doctor's hand.
"Walking, right. Better get to it."

Date: 2007-04-17 04:49 pm (UTC)"Where are we walking to?" She asked as she took up the Doctor's other hand

"The train station, I hope," he said cheerfully.

Date: 2007-04-19 12:48 am (UTC)"Or shall we walk with no heading?"

Date: 2007-04-19 05:42 am (UTC)"Besides, I want the day to last, and it's beautiful here...A walk will be lovely."

Date: 2007-04-19 05:39 pm (UTC)"It is, isn't it? It's been a long time since I've been here."

Date: 2007-04-20 04:16 am (UTC)"You've been before?"
no subject
Date: 2007-04-20 04:31 am (UTC)"Oh, it is. The weather is nippy, but now that that is settled...I've never been to India. It's lovely."

Date: 2007-04-21 02:27 am (UTC)"Yes, to a hotel in walking distance from Eden Gardens - the oldest and finest cricketing ground in India." The name, too, had been a factor in his choice. He was quite glad he'd managed to end up where he wanted.

Date: 2007-04-21 05:16 am (UTC)"Mm. Eden Gardens, Traken, Eye of Orion. I think we're just asking for trouble, Doctor."

Date: 2007-04-21 06:01 am (UTC)Nyssa half-leaned on the Doctor's shoulder, holding his hand in hers, the side of her head resting against his arm and her lips turned in a smile. "Well, it's not exactly a schedule. It's just a list of places that I wouldn't mind seeing. We don't have to go in any order."
no subject
Date: 2007-04-21 11:47 pm (UTC)"And yes, if you mean 2007." He turned his head to turn his smile on Nyssa, his eyes holding an excited gleam - the one that comes before a cheerful lecture.
"Well, there are three forms - limited overs, first class, and test. The first, well, it's also called 'one-day' for a reason. First class has a maximum of three of four says and test cricket has five. ...That's probably more than you wanted to know."

Date: 2007-04-22 06:10 am (UTC)"2007? The last I was on Earth it was the 1980s still, and twenty years can't have past..."
Turlough listened, mildly. "Just so long as I don't have to play, I'm fine."

Date: 2007-04-22 06:25 am (UTC)Nyssa considered the year and spoke after a moment. "Well, time is relative, isn't it? Perhaps years pass differently on Trion?"
"Well, which form are we planning on viewing?"

Date: 2007-04-23 02:37 am (UTC)"One-day," he said to Nyssa, "Starting tomorrow if I'm right." He looked alarmed for a moment.
"Oh, dear, I hope I haven't gone too far."

Date: 2007-04-25 03:31 am (UTC)Turlough made a face. "We'll just check a newspaper. There's bound to be one at the station."

Date: 2007-04-25 03:59 am (UTC)"One-day." Nyssa repeated and she nodded in agreement with Turlough. "I do hope we're in the right place, the match would have already begun by now if we're on the day of the game, yes?"
