I just want to thank everyone who nominated the Doctor and made me smile like a dork. He insists his being flustered and a tad pink is in now way related to the awards, but we know better.

What made me most gleeful? Seeing thecricketer/the_corsair and thecricketer/alainn_aslinn/the_corsair on the ballots. I've loved writing them with Bria so very much, it's been a joy bringing them to the place they are now.

A lot of it has been over AIM, but there are a few threads I'd love to highlight.



This, I believe, is the first epic thread Five and Aislinn ever did. He tries to assure her, to help her find herself, and it becomes very intense and tender and sweet.

This marks a turning point in the Doctor and Byron's relationship, inspiring a lovely bit of introspection.

Later, they restore Aislinn to her rightful form, and it's all very complex and adorable.

The Doctor's first trip with Aislinn is full of wonder and affection; later, he takes Byron to a 51st century nudist colony. This manages to be both hilarious and poignant as they both learn to be a bit vulnerable.

Eventually comes the happy threesome thread, which rather speaks for itself.

The Doctor decides to believe in forever; Byron and Aislinn begin to mend a connection long frayed.

These three people complete each other, teach each other, need each other. They love one another completely, desperately, no matter the complications and doubts and mistakes. Not a one of them is perfect, but that doesn't matter; they forgive, and they keep going.

Their Doctor is the happiest he's ever been.


Now, thecricketer/the_corsair/thisway_comes isn't actually a threesome, but the Doctor seems to rather like the idea. He also says both thisway_comes and eleventh_doctor deserve your votes. (Which made him a bit conflicted.)

You should also, in my completely humble opinion, vote for _fredless, reallyoldguy, and wesley_w_price as best parents.

(The other Doctor in my head would like to point you to sinister_charm/broken_clock. Their relationship isn't what you would call healthy, but it is powerful and intimate and inescapable, and it seems to benefit them both aside from the odd bit of bloodshed. Here is a collection of interactions, if you're so inclined.)

Eleven says she likes the Rani and all that, but there is clearly no comparison.
